The Foundation for Physical Therapy Research is Accepting Applications For 2022 PODS I & II Scholarships

The Foundation for Physical Therapy Research (FPTR) will accept applications for its Promotion of Doctoral Studies I & II (PODS) Scholarships beginning October 8, 2021, for a projected total of 15 funded scholarships to be awarded in 2022. Visit Foundation4pt.org/scholarships for guidelines and new instructions.

Each year, the Foundation for Physical Therapy Research (FPTR) funds physical therapy research through doctoral scholarships. Recipients of these scholarships apply these funds toward the completion of their post-professional doctoral degree.

FPTR’s current scholarship cycle opened on October 8, 2021, and FPTR is now accepting applications for its Promotion of Doctoral Studies I & II (PODS) Scholarships. PODS I Scholarships of $7,500 support the coursework phase of post-professional doctoral studies prior to candidacy. PODS II Scholarships of $15,000 support of the post-candidacy phase of post-professional doctoral studies. This year, FPTR anticipates it will fund nine PODS I scholarships and six PODS II Scholarships. Applicants from all specialty areas are encouraged to apply.

Additionally, FPTR is now using a new Grants Management platform to simplify and streamline the application and peer-review process. All online submissions will now be accepted through Altum’s propsalCentral. Applicants can access guidelines, instructions, and important dates at Foundation4pt.org and submit their applications at proposalcentral.com. We also recommend you check out this brief guide on Characteristics of Successful and Unsuccessful Applicants.

The application deadline for all PODS Scholarships is January 5, 2022, with final notifications in June 2022.

Note, that this year, FPTR will not be accepting applications to its Combined PODS II/NIFTI or Fellowship opportunities. Sign-up to receive our enewsletter for instant updates and news on FPTR funding opportunities and deadlines.
