The Foundation for Physical Therapy Research-funded Center on Health Services Training and Research (CoHSTAR) is holding its health services research institute on May 1-2 in Providence, RI. This fourth Institute will focus on the emerging discipline of implementation science and  provide opportunities for researchers and clinical leaders to develop strategies to improve the quality and effectiveness of rehabilitative care.

CoHSTAR’s Health Services Research Intensive Workshop

CoHSTAR invites physical therapists engaged in health services research to submit an application to participate in the 4th annual Health Services Research Intensive Workshop. This workshop will be held on May 2nd, 2019 in Providence Rhode Island in conjunction with the 2019 Implementation Science Research Institute. Submission deadline: March 4, 2019.

Accepted participants will attend the Intensive Workshop free-of-charge and are expected to register for and attend CoHSTAR’s Implementation Science Research Institute (May 1-2).

Workshop participants will discuss and critique draft research proposals. Participants will have opportunities for one-on-one consultation with CoHSTAR faculty to discuss strategies to advance their research.

CoHSTAR is a multi-institutional first-of-its-kind center that was established to help advance health services and health policy research in physical therapy. CoHSTAR was made possible with a Foundation for Physical Therapy Research grant of $2.5 million, including a lead donation of $1 million from the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). APTA components, individual physical therapists, foundations, and corporations have also supported CoHSTAR with monetary gifts
