In Memory of Dorothy (Dot) Pinkston

Colonel Dorothy (Dot) Pinkston, US Army Retired, PhD passed peacefully on Tuesday, December 1, 2020.

Pinkston was a longstanding donor and Legacy Society member of the Foundation for Physical Therapy Research (FPTR). In lieu of flowers, her family requests that those wishing to honor her memory make a memorial contribution to FPTR.

Pinkston was recognized locally and nationally for her contributions to physical therapy education and for her service to APTA. Among the awards received are The Lucy Blair Service Award (APTA) and the Joseph F. Volker Outstanding Faculty Award (SHP, UAB). In 1986, she was elected to the membership category of Catherine Worthingham Fellow of the American Physical Therapy Association, the highest honor bestowed by the Association and the same year she received the Mary McMillan Lectureship Award (APTA), the highest award given by the Association.

A memorial services was held on December 12, 2020 at Carson McLane Funeral Home, 2215 N. Patterson Street, Valdosta, GA. 31602.
