About the Challenge
The Marquette Challenge is a grassroots, student-led fundraising effort to advance the mission of the Foundation for Physical Therapy. Each year, hundreds of physical therapist (PT) and physical therapist assistant (PTA) students, with the support of their program directors and community, hold fundraising events across the U.S. The top fundraising school for the 2017-2018 Mercer-Marquette Challenge, The University of Pittsburgh, raised $50,552 and earned naming rights for the 2018-2019 year.
When students participate in the Challenge at any level they make an investment that strengthens their future profession. Every donation, big or small, makes it possible to fund scholarships, fellowships and research grants. The Challenge allows students to connect with research in a meaningful way.
Funds raised through the Marquette Challenge provide funding for clinical researchers, support the rigorous scientific review process for all Foundation funding, and sow the seeds for new research to come. Since its inception, more than 300 schools have participated in raising more than $4 million.
