Foundation Welcomes New Trustees to Board

The Foundation for Physical Therapy Research Board of Trustees has appointed Stuart Binder-Macleod, PT, PhD, FAPTA, Marc Guillet, PT, MSPT, and Peter McMenamin, PT, DPT, MS to its Board of Trustees. Their 3-year terms begin immediately.

Stuart Binder-Macleod, PT, PhD, FAPTA
Binder-Macleod returns to the Board after serving from 2015 to 2023. He is a past Foundation funding recipient, receiving a Doctoral Training Research Grant from the Foundation in 1989, and served on the Foundation’s Scientific Review Committee from 1998-2001. Binder-Macleod served as Chair of the University of Delaware’s Department of Physical Therapy for 16 years and most recently served as the Edward L. Ratledge Professor of Physical Therapy and Associate Vice President for Clinical and Translation Research. A long-time active member of APTA, Binder-Macleod has served as the Treasurer of the Section on Research, on the editorial board of Physical Therapy (now PTJ), and as a member of the Association’s research advisory committee. He became a Catherine Worthingham Fellow in 2003.

Marc Guillet, PT, MSPT
Guillet is a physical therapist with over 30 years of experience and the Founder and President of Agile Physical Therapy, a private practice group with clinics across California. Prior to founding Agile in 2002, he served as Director of Rehabilitation for the UCLA and Stanford athletic departments, working alongside some of the nation’s top coaches, athletes, and teams and specializing in injuries across more than 35 sports. Under his leadership, Agile has become known for its advanced clinical training, including being the first private therapy company in the western United States to establish an accredited Women’s Health Residency. Guillet also serves as the executive director of a rare disease nonprofit.

Peter McMenamin, PT, DPT, MS
McMenamin is currently Associate Professor and Associate Chair for Strategic Partnerships at the Northwestern University (NU) Feinberg School of Medicine Department of Physical Therapy & Human Movement Sciences, and Director of Physical Therapy Academic Affairs at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab (SRAlab). He has served as Treasurer and President of the Illinois Physical Therapy Association (IPTA), and Treasurer of the Private Practice Section (PPS). McMenamin has received numerous awards, including PPS’s Robert G. Dicus Award, the APTA Government Affairs Legislative Commitment Award, the IPTA Babette Sanders Service Award, and the APTA Lucy Blair Service Award.

Their combined expertise will strengthen the Board as the Foundation responds to the evolving landscape of physical therapy and the growing needs in physical therapy research.”
At the end of 2025, Paul Rockar Jr., PT, DPT, MS, FAPTA, immediate past president, concluded his nine-year term. Current trustees Rebecca L. Craik, PT, PhD, FAPTA and Chris Powers, PT, PhD, FAPTA, will now serve as President and Vice President, respectively.
