CoHSTAR Funds First Summer Diversity Fellowship Opportunity

The Center on Health Services Training and Research (CoHSTAR) recently developed a new diversity-targeted, mentored predoctoral summer research opportunity designed for physical therapists from under-represented groups.

This new diversity-targeted opportunity is funded through the support of Theresa Shireman, PhD and the Center for Gerontology and Healthcare Research at Brown University.

Chris Yun Lane, PT, DPT, a graduate student from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill was selected for this opportunity.  He will work with Dr. Shireman to examine disparities in health services outcomes for adults with rheumatoid arthritis.

The Center for Gerontology and Healthcare Research is one of the research centers within Brown University’s School of Public Health with a nationally prominent research program that studies the diverse health and social service needs of older adults and those with chronic illnesses.
