AAOMPT ESTABLISHES $250,000 ENDOWMENT FUND

The Foundation for Physical Therapy Research is pleased to announce the establishment of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists (AAOMPT) Endowment Fund.  The AAOMPT Endowment Fund was established to provide funding for grants and projects to investigate areas related to musculoskeletal disorders.

“Our partnership with AAOMPT will allow the Foundation to fund impactful research in manual orthopaedic physical therapy, as well as develop researchers focused in this area of investigation,” said Foundation President, Edelle Field-Fote, PT, PhD, FAPTA. “We are extremely grateful for this contribution and understand the vital role such an investment will have on the future of the profession.

The pledge to establish the $250,000 endowment fund was announced at the 2017 Combined Sections Meeting.

“As part of teaching Manual Therapy Fellowship programs, AAOMPT has been focused on implementing research in clinical practice and clinical education,” said AAOMPT President, Jim Rivard. “With over 2 decades of utilizing the energy of our fellowship programs and people to contribute to the literature, we are proud at this time to also be able to contribute the additional recourse of financial support to establish this endowment fund.

Established in 1991, AAOMPT is a national organization committed to excellence in orthopaedic manual physical therapy practice, education, and research.
